After the Big Day:
Family Vows
<< Back
To make our children a special part of the wedding, we gave special family vows just to them. Along with the vows, we bought each child a silver Saint Christopher medalion and engraved “HANK” on the back which we presented to them during our wedding ceremony. Saint Christopher medals have always been worn as symbols of protection and we wanted the kids to know that they would always be loved and protected by us as long we all shall live.
Kevin made the first vow to Haley and it went like this...
Haley,
You and your mom have had a profound impact on both my life and Noah's. I promise to be a good and faithful husband to your mother and also a patient and loving father to you, caring for you and providing for you as my own. I promise to be your strength and emotional support with all of my heart forever.
As we join our two families into one, please accept this gift, a medallion of Protection, as a symbol of our new family.
Haley teared up, Kevin got choked up, and most of the wedding party and guests within earshot almost lost it themselves.
Next, Amy made her vow to Noah and it went like this...
Noah,
You and your dad have made an amazing difference in my life. I promise to be a good and faithful wife to your father and also a patient and loving mother to you, caring for you and providing for you as my own. I promise to be your strength and emotional support with all of my heart forever.
As we join our two families into one, please accept this gift, a medallion of Protection, as a symbol of our new family.
