Hi,

Me again...

Well, the job search is coming along. The market is picking up a little after the holidays...I've had a few more interviews. Yeah! The sitting around at home all day scanning job ads and applying to jobs is wearing me thin. My stress levels are up way higher than they ever were on any consulting project. But, I still have some hair left. :) I'm also hanging by a thread onto the idea of still getting my house.

This whole experience has been like a waterfall. When I was first laid off, I had car problems and needed $450 worth of repairs. Since I didn't get a new job fast enough, I'm in jeopardy of losing my house (I can't close on it until I have an offer letter and income). Christmas came and I had to incur more credit card debt to get through it.

Today, my computer has decided that it won't boot up. It has decided that my monitor is not allowed to communicate with it. So, I can't see what's happening with the bootup process. I've been dealing with a recurring hard drive problem for some months now but, because of my lack of income, I've been putting off replacing it. I've been fixing it and now, it's decided not to work at all. I will have to bite the bullet and replace the hard drive. Hopefully, the repair technician will be able to setup another hard drive to boot from and then save my data from this hard drive. Who knows?...

I guess, when it rains, it pours!

Ciao for now,
Kevin

Sorry I haven't been on here in a couple days but I have no new news. The job search is just inching along with little progress and few interviews.

I'm even working on falling back onto my secondary skillset of marketing and creative skills. I have a new resume to promote those skills and will be using it for select positions that seem really interesting but, I'd rather be working in technology.

The house is still in a holding pattern. I've still got my fingers crossed on that though.

I'll check back in when I have some good news...or, at least, a change in my status.

BFN...

Hi everyone,

The Whittman-Hart reunion was great. There was a large turnout, much larger than I expected. It was a great opportunity to renew ties to old friends and do some networking. I'll keep my eyes open for the next one.

On the job front, I'm still looking but, I have a contingency offer of employment from TPC. TPC is a small consulting firm based out of Michigan that is expanding out to Chicago. They want to hire me but cannot until they close some business and have a project to bring me in on.

That's the good news. The bad news is that this delay is causing me to wait more for the house and risk losing it. My builder has already given me a 1-month extension without penalty. I am appealing to them to please delay just a little longer. We'll see what happens and I'll keep you all up-to-date.

Keep hanging in there! I am...
